Or not...

so, here's the girls w/ their bears garb right in front of our flag--getting ready to watch our first televised bears game (we don't get to watch them every week because they don't put them on out here.) and, what happened--they lost. maybe we should stop doing this because every time we do, our team looses. maybe we'll put the cubs flag back up...maybe that will end this slump. well, at least the girls look cute!

Our new house...

Just kidding. We went to the coast this weekend and took a tour of the Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA. It was awesome, but the girls did get a little bored with it. The weather was just perfect--it usually is on the coast. We saw seals and elephant seals and just enjoyed the beauty of the scenery. California's central coast is truly gorgeous--we definitely recommend it. On the way home we stopped in Paso Robles, aka Central Valley Wine Country. It's really pretty there too. This is a picture of the girls at a vineyard/winery...

Finally...

Maren in front of our Bears flag...
when we put out the cubs flag on opening day--they lost! when we put out the irish flag on their first game day--they lost! so, we waited one week to put up our bears flag (of course they lost last week anyway)--and they won! we didn't take a picture of the girls outside in their bears stuff because we don't have anything for maren yet--it's coming soon. we also haven't been able to see any games yet because they don't put them on tv out here. anyway, everyone is doing well. we had a fun, but very busy weekend...kickball game, cheerleading, strawberry shortcake movie! fun stuff!

Farmer's Market...

Every Thursday evening from May to October there is a nice Farmer's Market in downtown Hanford. We decided to go this evening because it was a gorgeous day and the weather was very pleasant. We always start out going quite a bit at the beginning of the season, but go less and less, and then not at all as the the scorching summer heat gets hotter. But, tonight was a perfect night for it. We bought tons of grapes and tomatoes and some garlic. After the girls rode the old fashion carousel, we all found a place to sit and eat and do some people watching. We saw several friends and neighbors too. It was a great time.

Da Bears...

Logan and Carsyn are playing kickball this Fall. Kickball always brings back fond memories of St. Chris! However, this is significantly less advanced. The team is comprised of three to five-year-olds, but with two awesome coaches--Megan and Barry! It's fun though. Everyone has a good time. We had our first game on Saturday. We don't keep score or record outs, but the kids learn the rules and sportsmanship. Don't the girls look great in their "Bears" shirts? Guess who named the team...

Go Team!

Logan getting ready for the first game!

Logan is a cheerleader for flag football and their first game was tonight. Her cheerleading squad did a super job, as I'm sure the players did too--but who was watching that : ) The girls have already learned a dozen cheers in just two weeks of practice. Doesn't she look cute in her uniform?

Carsyn's first day of Preschool

Carsyn on her first day of Preschool...
(don't let that face fool you--she was really excited!)
Carsyn started preschool today. It was a very big day for her, and everything went great. She loved her class and her teachers and had lots of fun. She already knew a lot of children in her class. Two girls in school--one to go...

GOOOOO IRISH!

Well, we put up our Notre Dame flag this morning and dressed the girls in their Irish gear--and they lost! Oh, well...it was only the first game of the season, and it was still awesome to see them take the field for the first time of the 2007 season.
