The Real Halloween...

So today was actually Halloween, but it sure didn't feel like it. We went to mass--just like any other Sunday. After church the girls had doughnuts and chit chatted with friends. Then we just spent a pretty lazy day at home, trying to get adjusted to having a pet. I cannot wait until we get the backyard fenced in! Happy Halloween (again)!

Happy Halloween!

Tonight was "Beggars Night" in our town--meaning the night for trick-or-treating. I'm not sure what that's all about. Where we're from, Halloween was on October 31st. All around this area communities just pick arbitrary days for celebrating--it's weird. Is that how it is where you live? Anyway, the girls still had fun. Their friend Emma came over to go out trick-or-treating with them. They received several compliments on their costumes, and collected way too much candy! Happy Halloween!

Our New Addition...

What did you think when you read that title? Did we build on to our house? Have a new baby? NO. We (very reluctantly--at least for me) got a dog. The girls have been begging for a dog for forever, and so has their dad. I was dead-set on not getting any animals. Well, turns out no one cares what mommy wants. So, thanks to daddy constantly stalking animal rescue sights and guilting me into it, now they all got their wish--a puppy. And who do you think will be taking care of her all day, every day? Most likely me. I mean I was seriously tricked into going to meet her, and now she's ours. She is cute, though. She's a three month old Cockapoo that "we" named Pumpkin. The girls seem to be in heaven. I think I've done my good deed...for life.

3rd Grade Halloween Party...

Right after the bus got back to school from Carsyn's field trip, Maren (daddy dropped her off at school) and I went to Logan's class Halloween party. Theirs was a lot more laid back. The kids had lunch and treats and then made Thanksgiving place mats for a local retirement home. Maren just had a blast socializing with all her third-grade friends.

1st Grade Field Trip...

This morning Carsyn's class went on a field trip to the Pumpkin Barn. It was pretty chilly, but the kids had a great time. They loved the hayride (luckily no one fell off ; ). They also got to pick their own pumpkins right off the vines. Of course the petting zoo was a big hit too. For anyone keeping track, this was my forth trip to a pumpkin patch this year. This also marks our 13th pumpkin sitting on the front porch.

First Grade Halloween Party...

Carsyn's class had their Halloween party today at school. The kids got to make crafts, play bingo, wrap the mommies, and eat some yummy treats. It looked like everyone enjoyed the festivities. After school Nana even brought Maren over to join the fun.

Daisies at the Pumpkin Patch...

Today after school it was Carsyn's Girl Scout troop's turn to go to Young's--and I got to go again as well. It was the same field trip as Logan's--same schedule, activities, etc. So, I was a little bored, but Carsyn had a blast with her friends. And--again--the weather was fantastic.

Company Halloween Party...

As soon as we got home from the game, the girls changed into Halloween costumes for daddy's company's Halloween party. It was a really nice set-up, with lunch and sweats provided, pumpkin decorating, games, wagon-rides, and a costume contest. Carsyn and Maren were played very shy when their age group was being judged. Logan, on the other hand, stood in the front and did a little posing. She won a Target gift card, which she said she'd share with her sisters--we'll see. The girls had a great time and we now have three more pumpkins at home.

Last Game of the Season...

Today was the girls' last game of the season. It was a super-fun season for the cheerleaders, even though our team's record was not a winning one. Better luck next year!

Pep Rally and Bonfire...

The football team invited the cheerleaders over for a bonfire and pep rally before the big game tomorrow. Logan and Carsyn had so much fun playing with friends, and finally putting the football players' names with their faces--it's hard to tell when they're all in helmets ; ).

Good Luck 3rd Grade Black...

The football team that the girls cheer for have their first playoff game this Saturday. So, last night a couple of the cheer moms and coaches got together to bake football brownies for the girls to give the boys for good luck. During their practice tonight the girls came over and did a cheer and passed out the special treats. It was so cute. Good luck, guys!

Brownies at the Pumpkin Patch...

Today after school Logan's Girl Scout troop went on a field trip to Young's Dairy. It was super-windy, but it wasn't raining like last year (that was the worst ever!) The girls had a great time picking pumpkins and sampling some of their homemade ice cream.
