Monticello...

We started out on our three week long "vacation" yesterday. Daddy has training for the Navy in Virginia Beach, so the girls and I are tagging along. We got into Charlottesville, VA very late Friday night, so we took our time getting up Saturday morning. Once we ate breakfast and freshened up, we headed up to Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson. I can't believe that we lived in Virginia two different times, and never visited. This area of Virginia is gorgeous, and we had so much fun at Monticello (despite the fact that Maren dropped and broke my camera--thank goodness it was just the little Nikon point-and-shoot!) Afterward we drove up to the top of a mountain to an orchard for some fresh peaches, before going out to dinner (and Best Buy for a new camera.) This morning we went to Mass, and then finished up our drive to Virginia Beach to start our vacation!

Presidents Day Weekend...

Logan has been working on her President project for a couple of weeks now, and it's due on Tuesday. Luckily for her she got President Lyndon Johnson. It's lucky because that is one of the three sitting Presidents that her great-grandpa Tipton had the pleasure of meeting. Also since she has learned all about it LBJ, we thought it would be neat to show her the actual Air Force One that he was sworn in on. It's right here at the Air Force Museum hanger, so after Mass we headed over there. This was our first time visiting both the museum and the hanger, and we were very impressed. It's very cool to have first-hand access to history.
