Girl Scouts at the Animal Shelter...

Another adventure from our super-busy Leap Day.  Here are Carsyn and her friends outside the animal shelter where they went for a Brownie field trip.  The girls have fun learning about taking care of cats and dogs, and even got to pet a few.  Fun stuff!

It only happens once every four years...an extra day.  I would gladly have given that one back this year--so busy!  Maren's kindergarten class had a party, I had library in the afternoon, a field trip for Carsyn's brownie troop, and dance...i just want to go to bed!

Lacrosse Girls...

Logan started lacrosse practice last week.  She is loving it so far.  I, on the other hand, am completely lost--I know nothing about the sport.

Newport Aquarium...

We actually had nothing to do today (hard to believe--I know).  So, last night after Mass Lilli came over and spent the night.  Today we drove down to Newport to go to the Aquarium.  The girls had fun looking at all the exhibits.  Afterward we at lunch at Tom + Chee (featured on an episode of Man V. Food).  It was a perfect day!

More Volleyball...

Logan had another volleyball game today.  They actually won two out of three games in the match.  Logan did quite well with her serves.  The girls continue to improve.  So far, I'm quite impressed!

Carsyn's Field Trip...

Today Carsyn's class took a field trip to a nature reserve to learn all about maple sugaring and syrup production.  You may remember that Logan's class took this same field trip when she was in second grade.  And, once again--the tasting was the overwhelming favorite part!  It was chilly, but not too bad.  Carsyn had fun and learned a lot!

You know I don't usually post pics of myself, but a couple of folks asked...  Today marked the 4th time of getting 10+ inches cut off for Locks of Love.  I've said this before, but someday I will convince one (or more) of the girls to join me ; ). 

Logan's First Volleyball Game...

Today was Logan's first volleyball game.  In fact, her first two games--they had a double-header.  Unfortunately they lost all of them, but they're still learning.  Logan did really well serving (and at this age--that's more than half the battle), and I'm sure she'll keep improving!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today was a fun-filled day.  Maren's class had their Valentine's Day party this morning, and then Logan's was this afternoon.  Once again, Maren was quite the party girl.  What a busy day, and now we're off to volleyball practice...is it Spring Break yet?

Chili Cook-Off...

Tonight we held our first annual "Chili Cook-Off" fundraising dinner at school.  The girls had tons of fun running around will several of their little friends.  We had a great turn out, and I'm happy to report that our Library bake sale was a huge success!

Carsyn's Valentine's Day Party...

Carsyn's class had their Valentine's Day party today.  They had a lot of fun, and of course so did Maren.   I think she's trying to set a school record for most parties attended in one year ; ).

Blue and Gold...

Today was the last day of Catholic Schools week, and Blue and Gold day.  The girls loved getting all decked out in their school colors.  They were also excited to watch the annual 8th grade vs. staff volleyball game.  You may be wondering if being a "volunteer library coordinator" makes you eligible to play...well, I did this year ; ).  I had fun, and the staff won!

This afternoon Maren and I were able to have lunch with Carsyn (and several of her friends).  The girls had a great time...lots and lots of giggling and being silly!

Maren's 100th Day of Kindergarten...

Maren has been in kindergarten for 100 days, and she's loved every one of them!  Here she is wearing her 100 bead necklace.  What a great 100th day!
